French Film Festival 2025 at the RBC Film Theatre

The Robert Burns Centre is delighted to be involved with the annual French Film Festival which takes place in cinemas around the UK. And 2025 is no different. There’s the opportunity to see films not shown anywhere outside of France as well as sneak previews of films that won’t be released until 2026. This year features Jodie Foster in her foreign language debut A Private Life / Vie Privée (15) in which her French and comedic skills are on full display in this mystery thriller, which sees her character journey down a rabbit hole to investigate a suspicious death. Upcoming Sirât starts off as a meditative examination of a father and son bonding with rave-obsessed nomads, but then quickly transforms into a bleak and heart-pounding thriller.

For children there’s the charming animated tale Nina and the Hedgehog’s Secret. Rounding out the short season of films are How to Make A Killing -- a comedic thriller with echoes of the Coen Brothers starring Franck Dubosc and Laure Calamy and court-room drama Smoke Signals.
