Wheel Chair Accessibility
The Film Theatre is fully accessible to wheelchair users, with four wheelchair spaces on the front row. Advance booking of these spaces is advised. If you are booking online, please book seats A7, A8, A9 or A10 and email rbcft@dumgal.gov.uk with details of your booking so that we can ready the seats for you.
If seats A7, A8, A9 or A10 are already booked and you require a wheelchair accessible seat, please call on 01387 264808 during film screenings or email rbcft@dumgal.gov.uk and we will do our best to accommodate you.
CEA card
We offer CEA card holders a free ticket for a carer accompanying an individual with disabilities. To apply for a CEA card, visit the CEA website. To use your CEA card to buy tickets, simply select one usual seat for payment and one using the ‘CEA Card Holder’ option, then be sure to bring your card on your visit.
Facilities for deaf and hard of hearing audiences
The auditorium is equipped with an inductive loop for people with hearing aids equipped with a T-switch.
Descriptive Subtitling (DS) is a service for our Deaf and hard of hearing customers. It displays extra auditory information on the screen.
As well as showing the dialogue, DS provides information about other significant sounds. For example: when something is being sung; when a phone rings; or when a door slams. This allows customers using the subtitles to access the film more fully.
If you would like to request a film with Descriptive Subtitling, please email rbcft@dumgal.gov.uk.
Facilities for visually impaired audiences
Audio Description (AD) is a service for partially sighted or blind people. The film's main soundtrack plays through the cinema speakers in the usual manner. But AD users listen to a specially recorded narrator through a set of headphones. The recording details what's happening on the screen. The service is like listening to a football or cricket match on the radio.
The AD headphones are available to collect from Box Office. You can pick up your headphones when you pick up your tickets before the film screening.
