Back in the cinemas on 19th May 2026, one month before the Tate exhibition opens, FRIDA KAHLO allows audiences to watch both the film and see the smash hit show about this much-loved artist whose dreamlike painting El sueño (La cama) recently sold for $54.7 million breaking the record for the most expensive work by a female artist at auction.
Almost 20 years after making their iconic turn as Miranda, Andy, Emily and Nigel—Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway, Emily Blunt and Stanley Tucci return to the fashionable streets of New York City and the sleek offices of Runway Magazine in the eagerly awaited sequel to the 2006 phenomenon that defined a generation.

The striking new documentary, Sailm nan Daoine welcomes audiences along on an intimate and heartfelt road trip which explores one of the most emotionally resonant and culturally significant musical traditions: Gaelic psalm singing.
Rob MacNeacail embarks on a road trip across Scotland and Ireland to explore the tradition of Gaelic psalm singing. An entertaining and heart-warming film about the power of community, family and the resilience needed to keep a language alive. Rob also composes the soundtrack to the film, incorporating melodies, field recordings and musical encounters he makes along the way. The combination of harmonium, whistle, guitar and synthesised drones give the music a futuristic tone, whilst being steeped in tradition.
We're delighted to welcome the star of the film Rob MacNeacail for a workshop after the film. Screening in association with Gàidhlig Dumgal who promote awareness of, and interest and involvement in Gaelic language, literature, music and other aspects of Gaelic culture throughout Dumfries and Galloway.

We're delighted to be screening a documentary from locally born filmmaker, Glenda Rome. Glenda, who is the daughter of well-known farmer and businessman Jock Rome (now best known for running Kilnford Farm Shop and Cafe), will also provide an introduction and there will be a short Q&A session after the film.

This powerful debut feature by Glenda Rome is a meditation on perception and belonging - guided by White’s poetry and thought, yet grounded in the Earth itself. Through immersive cinematography and the voices of artists, geologists, and thinkers influenced by his work, the film explores where landscape and mindscape meet, revealing a space where geology, art, and inner reflection converge.
A poetic and thought-provoking journey, Expressing the Earth invites us to look again at our relationship with the planet - and to rediscover the creative connection between human perception and the living Earth.
About the Director: Glenda is a Scottish filmmaker whose cinematic work bridges art, environmental and human connection. For over two decades she has worked internationally on documentaries and community projects — from collaborating with Indigenous communities in the Ecuadorian rainforest and Iñupiat people in Alaska, to helping young and under-represented voices tell their own stories through film.
