Milk (15) LGBT+ History Month

LGBT+ History Month is a UK-wide event that aims to raise awareness of LGBT+ people's history and culture, and to challenge prejudice and discrimination.

We have partnered with Dumfries LGBT+ Group to bring you the story of Harvey Milk (Sean Penn), and his struggles as an American gay activist who fought for gay rights and became California's first openly gay elected official.

Blue Jean (15) | LGBT+ HISTORY MONTH

February is LGBT+ History Month, an annual month-long observance of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender history, and the history of the gay rights and related civil rights movements.

Set in Thatcher's Britain in the late 80s closeted PE teacher Jean leads a double life. When a new student arrives and threatens to expose her sexuality, Jean is pushed to extreme lengths to hold onto her job and her integrity.

Before each screening there will be a short (filmed) intro from RBCFT staff member Jan who recalls her time travelling to London to demonstrate against Clause 28.
